Pretty good mount, heavy enough to stay in place and not move around at all. I also like the fact that it comes with its own mounting bracket and its not just a heavy bean bag, lets me keep the windshield mount in the other car. Also like the fact that its not as big as others.

GPS Review - TomTom ONE XL Widescreen Bluetooth GPS Navigator

I've just had the chance to place my excited little hands around the new TomTom One XL. Previously a Garmin GPS fan I was determined to keep an open mind about whether the new TomTom One XL could live up to the hype. Well my GPS friends you will not be disappointed.

As you know previously I have only full endorsed two GPS's and they were the Garmin 350 & 660. Well now we have another winner to add to the list - the TomTom One XL.

This little beauty is equipped with a 4.3 inch screen and weighs in at 7.4 ounces. Apparently it is an upgraded version of the TomTom One 3.5 inch but since I haven't seen the former I can't say how alike they are.

The pixel definition is superb. All the map info is now stored on a tiny flash-drive inside the unit which makes for updating maps very easy.

Overall the reason that the TomTom has impressed me so much is that the screen clarity, auto zoom and screen refresh rate is flawless.

Now with all this excitement you would think that I'm about to propose marriage, but alas it is my duty to give you both the good and the bad on this little navigator and there are few areas where the function lets you down.

Most notably is that you are unable to see the names of the roads that are upcoming on your map until you are practically already on them. If you completely trust the system or are familiar with the roads in the area then that won't be a problem but if you are like me and need to know a few streets in advance what street name that you'll be turning at then that can be frustrating.

If you are a control freak like me then that one flaw might cause a bit of annoyance but overall I think the TomTom One XL is a winner.

Ich habe gerade die Möglichkeit, meine kleinen Hände aufgeregt um den neuen TomTom One XL statt. Früher ein Garmin GPS-Fan war ich entschlossen, einen offenen Geist, ob die neuen TomTom One XL leben könnte bis zu den Hype zu halten. Nun mein GPS-Freunde, die Sie werden nicht enttäuscht sein.

Wie Sie vorher habe ich nur voll bestätigt wissen, zwei GPS-'s und sie waren die Garmin 350 & 660. Nun haben wir einen neuen Gewinner zu der Liste hinzufügen - das TomTom One XL.

Diese kleine Schönheitist ausgestattet mit einem 4,3-Zoll-Bildschirm und wiegt 7,4 Unzen. Offenbar ist es eine aktualisierte Version des TomTom One 3,5 Zoll, aber da ich noch nicht gesehen haben das ehemalige ich kann nicht sagen, wie ähnlich sie sind.

Die Pixel-Auflösung ist hervorragend. Alle Infos Karte ist jetzt auf einer kleinen Flash-Laufwerk gespeichert sind innerhalb der Einheit, die für die Aktualisierung von Karten sehr einfach macht.

Insgesamt kommt der Grund dafür, dass der TomTom mich so sehr beeindruckt hat ist, dass der Bildschirm Klarheit, Auto-Zoom und Bildwiederholfrequenz ist makellos.

Jetzt mitall diese Aufregung würden Sie denken, dass ich mich auf die Ehe vorschlagen, aber leider ist es meine Pflicht, Ihnen sowohl das Gute und das Böse auf dieser kleinen Navigator und es gibt nur wenige Bereiche, in denen die Funktion können Sie unten.

Die meisten ist vor allem, dass Sie nicht in der Lage sind, die Namen der Straßen, die auf Ihrer Karte bevorstehenden sind zu sehen, bis Sie sind praktisch bereits auf sie. Wenn Sie absolut vertrauen Sie auf das System oder mit den Straßen in der Umgebung vertraut, dass dann kein Problem sein wird, aber wenn du wie ichund müssen ein paar Straßen weiter im Voraus, was Straßennamen wissen, dass Sie umdrehen werden dann an, dass frustrierend sein kann.

Wenn Sie ein Kontroll-Freak, wie mir damals, dass ein Fehler ein wenig Ärger verursachen können, aber insgesamt denke ich das TomTom One XL ist ein Gewinner.

I managed to get one of these tomtom iphone car kits at my local Apple store (Glasgow). They had loads of them on the shelves, and by looking at them - I could tell that they'd just been put on the shelves and that I was quite possibly one of the first to buy it.
